My "dive career" began in 1993 during a backpacking trip through Southeast Asia and should later on lead me and my beloved sweetheart Steffi and temporary UW assistant through numerous exciting countries with many different and fascinating dive areas. A ten year lasting journey begins...

The first dives during my Open Water Course in Koh Phi Phi/Thailand were exciting but basically "just" nice and colourful.

In the following 250 dives I got introduced into the beauties of the Red Sea with its great reefs and amazing numbers of endemic species.

The two following working seasons in Khao Lak/Thailand appeared to me like a revelation. There were so many new things to discover, it was just amazing.

I could hardly keep looking up all the "new" species which I have of course not noticed during my Open Water Course years before.

But apparently everything is increasable: Bali/ Indonesia turned out to be a capital for nudibranchs and a real "City of Ghostpipefish".

Nowhere else I've seen a greater variety of species underwater as in Tulamben (except maybe at Nusa Kode/Komodo). And I guess nowhere else are more ghostpipefishes - once even 7(!) in a single dive.

After meanwhile more than 1.600 dives, always with a magnifying glass in my pocket, numerous UW Photos have been accumulated in my underwater photo archive. Some of them have even been published in the new book Nudibranchs of the World, (published 10/2007) by Helmut Debelius and Rudie H. Kuiter (therein some rare species and a few new records for Indonesia!).

Unfortunately I could never find the right time to work on an own website so far. However, now it's done and I hope I can continue developing this site in the near future. ;-)  [To-date 10/2006]

After 4 years working as a Technical Writer, during which time I have constructed this website amongst others, I have never been away from the diving completely. I rather know the dive business for about 20 years and I am looking forward now to benefit from my dive biz expertise and my comprehensive knowledge about southeast asia and the countries as a whole in order to boost my new project.
